Digging for Dinosaurs
Dinosaurs are always a huge hit with children. They will be introduced to the differences between meat eating and plant eating animals and will have the opportunity to look at some dinosaur teeth up close and make their very own T-Rex Tooth. They will also work as paleontologists by participating in a mini dinosaur dig that will engage their attention as well as their scientific skills.
Adventures in Air & Roaring Rockets
Children will learn that even though air is invisible it is all around them all the time. They will also learn that air has the power to both move items and to slow them down. They will experiment with a variety of items that rely on the air to help them move, including rockets. We will then finish with a whizz bang rocket launch!
‘Sounds’ fun to you? This workshop will introduce children to the science behind the sounds all around them. Children will experiment with a wave models and noise-makers to help them understand that sound travels in waves and can be heard in a variety pitches. They will also have the opportunity to learn about Hollywood Sound Effects and take part in a very special sound-matching challenge…
|Lights On |
This workshop will introduce children to the exciting world of colour and light. What is light and where does it come from? Mix different colours of light and explore the rainbow of light using diffraction glasses. Have a close look at shadows and use some very special paper to catch your own shadow! The children will make a new friend while learning about the colours of the rainbow and will experiment with their creative side during an activity on colour mixing.
Volcanoes and more simple chemistry fun – get ready to make some special Mad Science explosions and potions! And face a special Mad Science challenge with our home-made Magic Mud…
